This past week has been a blast in the coding track. We are getting close to finishing covering our introductory _DSF8424material, and campers are starting to think about their projects. Along with all this, the Coding Track campers got to take a trip to Google’s Boulder office during our Boulder trip on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Google trip was a hit. We got to learn about projects at Google, the different positions and roles at Google, and how the software engineers at Google communicate with their coworkers on their projects. The campers even gota time to sit down and talk with a software engineer at Google that works on Google Drive, Rich Feit. They asked Rich questions about his job, and how they might be able to get a job at Google one day. I see some future Google employees in our Coding Track!

_DSF0325During Inc. time, we just finished covering Sets, Dictionaries, Functions, and Recursion. With these new data structures and techniques, the campers were able to answer some very complex questions on our Kattis site [1]. Many of these are college-level computer science problems (many CS0, some CS1 or CS2). I think they have learned enough to create amazing projects next week.

Stay tuned to find out what the campers dive into!
